Combination of IBM's New Mainframe and Chordiant's Customer Experience Software / Delivers a Highly Responsive, Scalable, Real-time Customer Solution

Chordiant Software, Inc., the leading provider of Customer Experience (Cx(TM) ) software and services, today announced that Chordiant Decision Management, Recommendation Advisor and Enterprise Foundation are now available for the IBM Websphere Application Server on z/OS and z/Linux operating systems. The combined solution will deliver Chordiant's real-time customer interaction management capabilities to companies that require the scalability, reliability, performance, and flexibility of WebSphere Application Server on System z. Together, Chordiant and IBM provide a responsive, high throughput, real-time environment for delivering the best possible customer experience while optimizing business efficiency.

"We are delighted that Chordiant's real-time decisioning solutions are now available for IBM WebSphere Application Server for z/OS. The IBM hardware and software combinations that it supports offers extraordinary energy efficiency capabilities that in these difficult economic times our customers are demanding. We look forward to working with Chordiant and our respective customers in their move to Chordiant on z," said Mark Hanny, Vice President ISV Alliances and Academic Initiatives, of IBM.

Customers will see immediate benefit in speed and security with very complex processing and predictive analytics, instantaneously delivering results to customers or customer facing employees. Chordiant's front office solution does not replicate data which leads to a cleaner and simpler integration. Due to the cost per user vs. cost per server metric, together we provide scalability based on customers, which typically results in a reduction of operating costs. According to one analyst, the IBM System z platform can be configured to require 1/12th the electricity as a distributed server farm with equivalent processor capability.

"Our move to IBM's z platform was based on strong customer demand for the platform," said Lisa Caswell, Vice President, Global Alliances of Chordiant. "For our customers, the combination of Chordiant Cx and IBM's flexible new mainframe is a great solution. Our companies have a long history of building customer-centric solutions for large enterprises, and this is an exciting step in our history." Chordiant is capable of running on any operating system within the flexible IBM System z environment, including z/Linux and z/OS. The Chordiant Platform is deployed on top of (WebSphere and DB/2). Similarly, Chordiant customers who adopt System z can benefit from having all of their disparate systems running within a single box, while Chordiant seamlessly collects and leverages data from each one. IBM System z customers who choose Chordiant solutions will benefit from a host of unique customer experience management capabilities designed to optimize customer relationships and interactions in high throughput environments.

This is timely as company's face issues around M&A activity driving both customer and system consolidation that require not only a single view of the customer but more importantly a single view of the company back to the customer. Together, Chordiant and IBM z series can enhance investments that have already been made or when necessary they can replace numerous systems.
