Inxmail GmbH, based in Freiburg, has been awarded the TOP 100 seal of approval for its outstanding innovative achievements, gaining third place in the "Innovation-friendly Senior Management" category. This accolade is awarded as part of a na-tionwide benchmarking survey, in which Professor Nikolaus Franke of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration investigates the innovation management capabilities of medium-sized firms in Germany. The best one hundred companies, which include Inxmail, are now entitled to display the TOP 100 seal of approval for 2005. Project patron Lothar Späth will be presenting this highly coveted award when the top innovative firms meet in Berlin on 22 June.
Apart from assessing successful innovations already on the market, the study evaluates four aspects of innovation management: a company's innovative proc-esses and organisation, its climate of innovation, the way it markets its innovative products and how innovation-friendly its senior management is. These factors en-sure that the company can follow these products up with further innovations in future.
"Good innovation management strikes the right balance between creativity and planning, both of which are important at every stage", stressed Professor Franke, who coordinated the survey. Inxmail GmbH has managed to achieve this fine bal-ancing act, earning itself a place among the TOP 100. Within just a few years, the firm has evolved into a leading provider of email marketing software and services. One reason for this is that Inxmail Professional is based on a graphic user interface which, from the client's perspective, offers clear advantages over other applications: it is easier to use and therefore incurs lower training costs, is more readily accepted by staff members and takes less time to conduct email campaigns. The firm's greatest asset is its flexibility in responding swiftly and appropriately to market requirements.
You can read all about Inxmail's other innovative capabilities in the book "TOP 100 2005 - Germany's most innovative medium-sized businesses", which is edited by Lothar Späth, the project's patron.
Every year, Professor Franke uses a standardised procedure to establish the hundred most innovative participants in the TOP 100 study. Out of roughly 1,750 com-panies from all over Germany that registered an interest, 192 ultimately took up the challenge.
